PR Manager
StoryBound Communications is looking for a part-time PR Manager or Consultant (Contractor) with a mix of public relations and social marketing experience adept at creating and managing campaigns to generate positive awareness and results for our clients. The strongest candidates will have experience handing PR, media relations, influencer outreach and social media programs for consumer or technology brands.

Primary responsibilities
- Create successful integrated communication programs and plans for clients
- Develop media relations strategy for clients with a goal of securing high-level placements with major media, blogs, broadcast outlets, etc.
- Manage day-to-day client activities including developing and writing interesting and effective press materials, conducting media outreach, placing stories, leading press interviews, etc.
- Assist in the development of blog, contributed articles and social media content for clients – working alongside other team members and freelancers)
- Develop strong working relationships with clients, press and analysts while working to create opportunities for coverage
- Research and identify target media and influencers (including/not limited to: blogs, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) in designated verticals or passion groups we should engage with.
- Build strong relationships with media and social influencers on behalf of clients through regular communication and outreach
- Assist with PR and social media reporting, coverage tracking, etc. with team
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Strong understanding of and ability to execute PR plans, strategies and programs based on client objectives
- Proven ability to write and develop compelling and superb press materials, such as press releases, plans, blog posts and backgrounders
- Ability to craft quality pitches that effectively communicate client message/ask
- Experience and proven background successfully managing media outreach for clients
- Ability to establish and maintain effective reporter relationships
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
- Knowledge of social media and the ability to identify how it can be leveraged to achieve client objectives and communication strategy
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaborate with others in a team environment
- Positive attitude in a deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to think creatively and develop new and interesting ideas
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree required in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or a related field.
5+ years of experience in public relations, preferably in an agency setting and/or within an applicable industry. Experience in the technology industry preferred.
